Description
The Black Hills Designs RAIDER RACK was created to improve the comfort, sustainability, and flexibility of the end users’ existing equipment. With a universal fit and large capacity, the RAIDER RACK is an essential piece of kit for the variable nature of modern conflicts.
Employment:
- Unsupported operations in contested areas
- Reconnaissance
- SAW or Fire Support Roles
- Low drag high mobility operations (passenger vehicles, ATV, mechanized, etc.)
COMFORT: The structure of the RAIDER RACK was designed with anatomic compatibility first. Breathability, concealment, and capacity were the top priorities. Weight is suspended on the body in the way humans best carry it; close to the waist and above the hips. To avoid sweat build up, the RAIDER RACK has a built-in standoff on both front and back structural components to allow for ventilation.
MODULARITY: When mission flexibility a top priority, the RAIDER RACK rises to the occasion with the ability to be used within the confines of a confined vehicle where contemporary systems must be stowed. All while still retaining the ability to carry a full size ruck with waist belt.
LINEAGE and INSPIRATION: Is the Black Hills Designs RAIDER RACK a belt kit? A chest rig? LBV? The RAIDER RACK is closest to the Alice rigs of MACVSOG prominence with pure function driving the decisions made regarding their equipment setup. The vast majority of their missions were unsupported semi-conventional operations that required high firepower, comfort, and mobility. This parallels the modern battlefields with advances in tech forcing us to reevaluate unsupported infantry and reconnaissance operations alike. The RAIDER RACK stands amongst few peers and even fewer built for the modern day.
